A Guide to Lawn Care. How often have you walked past a house with a neglected lawn? Probably too many times to count. With so many other commitments it’s easy to forget about the garden and let it become overrun with weeds or let it dry out so much that it looks like you’ve got a sandpit out the front of your house.
Caring for your lawn doesn’t have to be time-consuming and with a little bit of effort, you can get it looking in good shape again. Your lawn might not be the envy of the neighbors but here are some handy tips to keeping your lawn healthy when you’re busy.
Automatic Watering System
Get an automatic watering system for your lawn so you don’t have to spend time watering the garden. Although this will cost you money it’ll save you time and money in the long run. If you don’t have the time to be out in the garden watering, then this is a simple solution, and you can time it so that the lawn gets watered on a regular basis. If you have water restrictions where you live you could consider getting a bore water pump so you can keep your grass green guilt-free.
Make sure if you are getting a lot of rain to turn your water sprinkler timer off otherwise your grass will grow too fast and you’ll have to put in more time to cut it.
Zero Turn Lawn Mower
Mowing the lawn with a zero-turn mower is much more efficient with its high-powered motor and quality deck. The best part about them is you can sit down and direct the mower with levers to move around your lawn.
Cutting the lawn can be quite a pain especially when you’ve got a big yard so invest in a lawnmower that will cut your grass faster. There are many zero-turn mowers on the market so have a look online and research the machine that will be best for your lawn.
Hire Professionals
You might be a mom who is trying to run a business from home or a dad who is juggling a career while trying to look after the kids and keep the house clean. If mowing the lawn or caring for your garden is out of the question then think about hiring someone to take care of it for you. If you are looking for a professional lawn mowing company, compare prices and what they offer before choosing one.
Easy garden ideas
There are many ways you can make your garden look nicer with minimal effort. Here are a few ideas:
- Brighten up your garden by placing some decorative stones or statues around the lawn.
- Plant flowers that don’t need much care or water.
- If you live in an arid place consider buying some cacti or desert plants. They thrive on little water.
- If you think you have too much lawn area and it’s hard to mow, consider getting a sandpit put in for the kids or concreting it and having an outdoor seating area.
If you’re looking for more ideas there are a plethora of home and garden magazines to find inspiration. Also, a quick search online will pull up hundreds of gardening blogs and articles. Gardening doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming – you just have to be smart about it. So consider getting an automatic watering system, a zero turn lawn mower, hire a professional or use some easy gardening ideas so you can enjoy your lawn and not just see it as a chore.
